About Beyond The Storm
Who Are We?
Beyond The Storm was created in response to the cataclysmic devastation Hurricane Katrina wreaked on our nation’s Gulf Coast. Wanting to do something more than simply send money, Pastor Rick Cowley the Lead Pastor of Christ Center Church in Sedona, AZ in 2005 called the church to action and Beyond The Storm was formed to respond to the pain so many were experiencing in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Our Purpose
We are a volunteer Disaster Relief Ministry and committed to taking the Light and Hope of Jesus Christ to people in need. These needs arise primarily as a result of natural disasters like floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, fires or ice. However, we also seek to respond to those who have other needs that can be met by our willingness to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
We are committed to frequently and consistently deploying teams of volunteers to places of need either locally in Pinellas County, FL, across the greater Florida area or across state lines within 1500 miles from our home base based in Seminole, FL.
A unique feature of a Beyond The Storm deployment is our commitment to intentional, personal, spiritual growth and study of The Word while deployed.
