More About Volunteering

Volunteer Parameters

  1. There’s no expectation that volunteers serve on every scheduled deployment.  Some can only serve once a year, others multiple times per year.
  2. National Deployments are typically one week long (occasionally eight days with travel).  BTS provides transportation, accommodations (with Samaritan’s Purse), food, tools, shirts and instruction/supervision.
  3. Local Deployments are typically one day, and transportation is arranged based on need.
  4. There is always something for everyone.  No skills are required and male or female, young or not so young everyone can make a difference.

"ALERT" Process

  1. When Beyond The Storm is given the opportunity to serve somewhere we make the assessment: Is this a Local Deployment or a National Deployment based on distance to be traveled, scope of the work and whether it’s with Samaritan’s Purse or Beyond The Storm alone.
  2. An “Alert” will be sent (via email and/or text) to the volunteers (Local or National), listing date(s), scope of the work, cost (if any) and the deployment expectations.  This “Alert” will invite volunteers to respond “I’m Available,” or “I’m Possibly Available”, or “I’m Not Available This Time.”
  3. Based upon this response, plans are then made.

IT ALL BEGINS WITH THE VOLUNTEER ALERT LIST
